So as you all may have heard, the groundhog says that it saw its shadow and so we will have 6 more weeks of winter. Whether you believe the meteorological chops of a rodent that lives in a library most of the year or not, we ended up with some more cold weather coming in just after. Sadly there wasn’t any snow, just a mixture of rain and ice. But that means that we’ll need some more firewood.
After keeping the wood burning stove going for a while this winter the wood supplies were running down. This means that more wood cutting is in order. Yes, it would be better to do this in the summer and let the wood age for a while. (Perhaps it would be better to do this in the summer and let the wood age a year or so before it is time to burn it). Clearly, this is chainsaw time.
